Job Description

We are currently seeking a Full Time Electronics Buyer who will adhere to the aforementioned mission statement, and who will promote student success by researching, selecting, and purchasing necessary consumer electronics and laptops for AC students, faculty, and staff to be purchased at the AC Bookstore.



Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Business training courses in high school, some college level courses in CIS.

Required: 2 years of related business and CIS work. 2 years of experience in PC troubleshooting and hardware repair.
Preferred: 3 or more years of related business and CIS work. 3 years of experience in PC troubleshooting and hardware repair.

Preferred: CompTIA A+ or successful completion of CPMT 1351 college course.

Attention to Detail.
Customer Service Mindset.
Knowledge of consumer electronics and computer hardware.
Microsoft Office.
Establish and maintain purchasing relationships with consumer electronic and hobby game vendors.
Research and select consumer electronics and games (laptops and accessories, software, audio accessories, data storage devices, hobby games products, etc.) to be purchased and sold in the AC Bookstore.
Organize game related events and trade shows to support student activities and the hobby game community.
Create POs for all consumer electronics merchandise and place orders with vendors.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and profit margins on all consumer electronic merchandise.
Assist in the management and maintenance of the AC Bookstore web page and online bookstore site.
Supervise the Computer Service Center and the tech intern(s).
Participate in the Annual Physical Inventory.
Share in the daily responsibilities of opening and closing the store.
Assist on the sales floor, operating the POS, taking customer phone calls etc. as needed.
Assist manager with other computer-related tasks as requested.
Must always maintain a high level of professional at all times, especially when dealing with resistance or hostility.
Participate in and complete performance assessments/evaluations as assigned.
Perform additional related duties as required.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office and bookstore supplies as needed.

Work Environment: This job operates in a bookstore environment. Work may occur in an area with continual interruptions which necessitates being flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments, and other interruptions which may influence pre-established timelines for completing assignments.

Attendance Expectations: Regular attendance is an essential condition of employment.

Travel Expectations: Some travel may be required for this position.

Salary: Aligned with the current published salary scale for the represented position grade, commensurate with experience.
