Required Minimum Quals:

The Production Coordinator will work in a team environment to ensure timely, safe, and efficient planning and execution for changeovers/conversions and running the technical components for game operations, rental and auxiliary events hosted by the Athletics Department. This position reports to the Associate Director for Event Services and supervises a crew of part-time event production staff.
This position serves as the production and technical expert for assigned events. Evaluates event needs then executes and oversees changeovers/conversions and operations during live events such as: rigging, staging, video (including in-game replay), electrical, lighting, and sound systems. Provides input to event managers regarding production needs, timelines and schematics; potential safety issues; analyzes potential problems; proposes solutions, alternatives or back-up plans; provides cost estimates. Handles on-sight production problems using the ability to adapt and troubleshoot. Hires, trains and supervises part-time production crew and supervises third party vendors. Responsible for making independent decisions on behalf of ISU and the client regarding safety, production and staging. Oversees arena cleaning and snow removal at assigned facilities. Schedules and/or performs regular maintenance on audiovisual and facility equipment. Requires a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, and NCAA.

Must also be able provide a high level of customer service with willingness to adapt to customer changes; have solid interpersonal and communication skills; be organized; and effective working with internal and external stakeholders. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse clientele. Must be available and flexible to work assigned evening and/or weekend events; able to lift and move up to 75 lbs regularly; able to work on ladders; able to safely operate various hand and power tools; and able to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. The ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
