UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and American Athletic Conference (The American) member, is seeking applications for the position of Senior Motion Graphics Designer, Video Production.
Under the direction of the Director of Multimedia and Creative, this position is responsible for the artistic creation, design and development of original concepts and programming, while collaborating to produce, design and edit game and non-gameday motion graphics elements and features.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Video Productions Management
Assist with the planning, design, direction and oversight of all video services unit technical operations;
Work in a highly collaborative fashion with Video Services and External Team staff in all operational functions;
Participate in the development, recruiting, training, and management of interns and part time staff and develop the
next generation of sports motion graphic and animation artists at UCF;
Work with the Video Production Team and others on the overall External Team to conceive, conceptualize, develop
design, create, and implement in-venue scoreboard and statistics displays for all UCF venues with LED video
Work with other groups within the External Team (Brand Development and Experiential Innovation) to create
innovative unique fan entertainment and engagement concepts to create the most unique gameday atmosphere in
college sports; This includes features, interactive games, crowd prompts, corporate partner activations, etc.
Provide creative vision and animation/graphical support for various Athletics Productions, including cinematic
productions such as Game Opens, Player Intros, our Award Winning “Knight Flicks” and other recurring series,
promotional videos and commercials, season highlight and banquet videos, instructional/orientation videos, etc.
Experience designing and creating content for unique pixel dimension displays, such as in-stadium LED displays and
videowalls is a definite plus;
Receive customer preferences and brand guidelines from our Corporate Partnerships Team and design and create
advertising compositions (ribbons, fascia, corner wedge, and various full frame elements and overlays) promoting
partner brands; Includes creating proofs and receiving partner feedback and managing the revisions process;
Update sponsored features and elements as needed throughout the season, including adding corporate partner branding
to already developed features, games, fan engagement elements, and crowd prompts;
Assist with the graphical elements and programming for OTT broadcast production of ESPN+ live event broadcasts
productions and unique fan engagement content on Twitch; These productions include press conferences, coaches’
shows, interview shows, studio shows, etc.
Assist with graphical support elements to produce feeds for commercial television entities (pool highlight feeds, press
conference feeds, highlight melt distribution, etc.);
Produce and manage the graphic files in the Ross XPression CG systems within the department.
Assist with asset management and archive of produced assets and elements;
Research and assist available technological/production improvement options for both the department and the
Work with Assistant Director of Live Production on game day set up and testing of created content for streaming/OTT
broadcasting, in-venue, and digital signage;
Daily media management of assets on the graphics design stations, ensuring maximum storage capacity, current
software upgrades (including internet downloads), and purging project files as appropriate
Work with Producers to purge project files as needed. Responsible for day-to-day management of software programs
and upgrades, including internet downloads.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience. Prefer demonstrated mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Light Room, as well as a demonstrated proficiency with 3D animation and motion graphics. Demonstrated mastery of Cinema 4D or AutoDesk Maya also preferred. Due to the nature/scope of the position, selected candidate must be able to take high-level project direction and plan, execute, and deliver completed projects within time sensitive deadlines; and be willing and able to travel and work remotely with non-traditional hours (nights and weekends).
